Murray Baptist Church is a church with an enduring history. At over 100 years old there are many stories to tell of the past. However, Isaiah 43:18 reminds us that we don’t dwell in the past but we look ahead to see the new thing God is doing. We keep our eyes before us so that we don’t miss it.
God has reinforced two thoughts in mind of our pastor. The first is we are to be a people transformed by the Word who are active about transforming the world around us. The second is the same components of building a church 2000 years ago are the same ones required to build a church today: solid teaching, fellowship, eating together, and praying (Acts 2:42). Those pieces, the Spirit of God, and the creativity only he can inspire, make for an exciting and unpredictable journey. We believe in God’s direction and anointing to bring this all together.
We’ve been at the same location and in the same building for a long time, but we anticipate a move of God that will allow us to connect with those want to become part of something bigger than themselves while letting God take control. Same church, same God, but we sense God is strengthening our connection. We envision a children’s church, an active teaching ministry whether, and expect it to grow into table groups that meet in person or virtually when the need arises. We can sense God’s leading to start a ministry at the hospital next door, and having a larger impact in the Murray andl larger community. A whisper of hope is growing into a louder voice of direction. Do you hear it? If so, are you willing to respond in faith and help us be God's hands and feet?
